PURPOSE
EcoTotes was founded to promote sustainability by creating eco-friendly grocery bags from upcycled materials, helping reduce waste and provide reusable alternatives for the community. Our mission is to ensure everyone, regardless of income, has access to sustainable options, while supporting environmental education and local cleanups. Join us in making a difference!
UPCOMING EVENTS
We hope to host more community clean ups alongside new engaging educational sessions over zoom before 2025 to teach you how to make these bags at home as well as educate young adults on the importance of sustainability.

EcoTotes is a local initiative I founded and have been working on for the past year, driven by a commitment to sustainability and social equity. The ban on plastic bags by the state of Connecticut in 2021 made me realize how expensive a sustainable environment can be. Seeking to bridge the gap in accessibility led me to develop EcoTotes by repurposing pet food feed bags into grocery totes for underserved communities.
We transform discarded feed bags into durable, reusable grocery bags and redistribute them at no cost to individuals who may not have the means to purchase quality reusable options. By doing so, we reduce waste and make sustainability accessible to all, regardless of economic status. Supported by donations of feed bags and financial contributions, we reinvest in sustainability-focused nonprofits and organize community cleanups in underprivileged areas. At its core, EcoTotes operates on the belief that everyone has the right to a clean environment and sustainable resources, irrespective of race, social status, or ethnicity. Looking ahead, I plan to expand EcoTotes by using future funds to hold free educational sessions on environmental sustainability in underserved communities, fostering long-term positive change.
